EU-SOLARIS represents the opportunity to achieve a real coordination of RTD capabilities and efforts in SolarThermal Electricity (STE) technology within the European Research Centres, along with those from neighbouringcountries and the STE Industry, to foster the technological development of the STE.15 partners representing 11EC countries are participating covering all the modes and Technologies of Solar Energy Concentrating Systemsand its RTD strategic lines.In order to establish a solid basis for a joint RTD organisation the essential ingredients for the success of thisinitiative-specifically addressed during the PP-will be the establishment of a new governance body, aided bysustainable financial models. The following actions will be included:

1. developing and determining all necessaryarrangements for hosting the new legal entity;
2. developing the collaborative model between public and privateentities and fostering the collaboration between industry and research centres;
3. establishing one access pointand clear rules for users;
4. preparing all the necessary mechanisms to secure sustainable financial resources;
5. defining appropriate systems for knowledge and IPR management;
6. coordinating the efforts of the participatinginfrastructures around Europe;
7. establish joint future development of research facilities; elaborating effective rulesfor the dissemination of project;
8. assessing the impact of the new EU-SOLARIS research infrastructureand the deployment of STE technologies for a sustainable development.

A Strategy and Development Plan willbe also established.EU-SOLARIS aims to explore and implement new and improved rules and procedures to structure the multi-sitefacility infrastructure. According to what was communicated by ESFRI, EU-SOLARIS is expected to be the first ofits kind, where Industrial needs and private funding will play a significant role
